Past Studios

Over the years I’ve had many different spaces, somehow made them all work. I wish I had thought to take pictures of all of them (I can’t find any from Grad School (must’ve been stressed) but here are a few!

One of my favorites, the Garber building (currently over-priced lofts) was raw and on the cheap. Complete with old van seat for comtemplating. I was there from about 2010-2015.

A view from the van seat, circa 2014.

A broader shot of Garbers. For a while everywhere I went I built a crazy painting storage loft out of 2 x 4s.

The shoddy door to the studio at Garbers.

The oldest one I could find, from an awesome shared space with the Magic Twig folks in Roanoke, VA. 2006?

2006ish also, this is the room next door where the Magic Twig bands recorded, and where the “horse-lady” lived for a time.

Moved to Richmond in 2008, this was our living room. The painting storage had to become front and center to make it work. Clyde the Manx cat!!

Ridiculously, the only photo I can find so far from the studio out-building in my first house, photo taken circa 2017. It was a great long (but unfinished) upstairs with big picture windows.
